Integrating Carnivores & Humanity for a Sustainable Future
S.P.E.C.I.E.S. is implementing or has implemented more than a fourteen wildlife conservation projects with partners and collaborators in as many countries around the world, with another half dozen or so already planned in the coming years.
We believe carnivores and the landscapes they depend on are in critical need in many places across the world, from the chaparral and coastlines of California, to the quickly-disappearing jungles and wetlands of south and southeast Asia; and from the Arctic sea ice and Scandinavian glacial fjords, to the impossibly real wilds of Patagonia.
Whether we’re working to improve the conservation context for a small, little-known canid, or using big cat populations to plan the connection of endangered landscapes, our partners are key to our successes small and large.
In the near future, we will be updating this site with additional information, including new and existing projects, our many institutional partners, and the dozens of people that are making S.P.E.C.I.E.S. a success.
